Thanks guys. I'm going to take a closer look at the swim platform from the donor boat and make a decision based on that. I don't think it's worth it if that isn't the right shape from the start.
I have a 2004 Bayliner 195 that has a small swim platform/ladder extending off the starboard side of the stern. The platform is broken and not repairable so I was going to replace it with a similar one, but I'm wondering if I should consider upgrading it to the larger style platform that you can...
My wiring harness on my Mercruiser 3.0 has these two wires coming out of it, one brown and white and one black. According to the wiring diagram I think these are for trim senders? But with these unplugged the trim still goes up and down, and I don't have a trim gauge....I'm sure I'm missing...
I bought a remanufactured Mercruiser 3.0 for my 2004 Bayliner 195 and installed the motor and it's running, but I'm trying to adjust the timing and I'm seeing different numbers everywhere online. I don't have the serial number for the motor, but the block number is 2770087. Everything except the...
I'm putting together a rebuilt Mercruiser 3.0 motor and it's one of the older style ones from the 80's that has the 4 piece oil pan gasket. Two of the pieces are cork and two are rubber. When I put them on I put some Permatex Ultra Black on the block and some on the pan itself, going around the...
My Mercruiser 3.0 motor bit the dust so I bought a rebuilt one from a mechanic online. The motor is all well and good, but when looking into putting into the boat we realized the "new" motor came with a different sized flywheel and doesn't fit the coupler I currently have. After doing some...
It was bad, but we finally got the bolt out! A friend of mine welding a not onto the top, blasted it with a torch and was able to get it to move. While he was working on it though he said that these little brackets fell out of the out drive and he doesn't know what they are. Can anybody identify...
Yup it's a bolt, not a stud. I didn't miss any of the other bolts including the one under the zinc. It's not separating. Going to get a machine shop help me remove it I guess. Thanks for all the help so far though guys!
Good idea.
It's the bolt that's kind of tucked in between some metal on the most bow-side of the lower unit. The first three photos are of the bolt head and the last two are after I cut the head off. The lower unit hasn't come off yet after removing the bolt head, but it might just be kind of...
