I have tried the method that was "stickied" in the firums but it doesn't seem to work quite right. When I do it like that the carbs run at 1000 RPM with the carb butterflies closed all the way. This seems to be wrong. The fule system has been totally gone through so I can't quite figure this...
I need to know if anyone has the torque specs for the bearing retainer ring on my lower unit. Seloc for some reason omits this info totally. I need to replace the two seals on the prop shaft. Any other need to know tips would be helpful, seeing how I am flying blind somewhat.
I have read in many places not to use a maintenance free battery for starting battery on this type of system because it can can premature regulator failure. I seem to be finding only maintenance free types so far. Is this true and, if so where, do you find a good starting battery local?

I have an older motorguide trolling motor. The foot pedal is significantly stiffer than I would like. Is there any way to lube these(cables, shaft, etc.) or is there any replaceable parts that can help with this?
I decided to check my voltage to verify my regulators were working properly. I have one which seems to have melted a spot in the film it is encased in. What are the readings supposed to be a idle? It climbed to somewhere around 15.65 volts at idle.
I was out after dark last night and all the lights on anything running through the master switch were flickering with the idle of the motor. Is this normal for an outboard?
I have bought a Procraft 170 fish and ski. It has a Black Max 135 on it. The owner before has moved the transom plate at least three times based on the different holes he used(it has five available). It currently seems high to me. A gentleman at the lake confirmed this to me the other day, but I...
