Can anyone give me some tips on filling the lower unit with oil? I can never be sure that it is full enough. Kinda hard to get oil in little hole. I don't want any costly repairs due to low gear oil.
cant get spark from 55 evinrude 15 hp. checked plugs at night while cranking no sparking seen. any ideas what the cause could be, and where should i start to remedy the situation. thx
I have a 1955 15hp Evinrude Fastwin. Can anyone tell me why my engine is hard to shift into forward and reverse? I disconnected the shift rod through the exhaust window and it is still difficult to shift into forward and reverse, I do not think the problem is in my lower unit. My manual does...
I am installing a fuel pump on my 1955 evenrude and need to find out what I need to do with the fuel line that goes from the engine to the old three prong connector. Should I just clamp it off or take it off completely? <br /> :confused: :confused: :confused:

i am thinking of buying a new or slightly used outboard. i was wondering if i bought a manual start could i modify it to be an elec. start also...add a starter solenoid. also, a 15" shaft compared to a 20" inch shaft, is there any differences between the two besides the fact one is longer than...
still having problems starting it....disconnect the fuel line will start..after it airs out a little. holding open the elec. choke starting goes faster. reconnect fuel bad idle then dies. try to go into full throttle it dies. i took the carb apart again, cleaned let soak, lots of grime in bottom...
