cleaning my carbs on my 1991 115 yam the book says the carb floats need to be at a exact mesurment ( i forgot offhand). When I measured the old float settings they were in spec with the gasket on. My question do you measure the floats with the gasket on or off?

Trying to test my 115 and the manaul keeps telling me to only use the yamaha special pocket tester because any other ohm meter will be off?<br />What? isnt a ohm a ohm? Would a 2k resistor be measured differntly with yamahas special $100 tester? I call BS. <br />Whats your opinion?
