Launching a SIB with a utility trailer questions

Re: Launching a SIB with a utility trailer questions I bought perforated metal strapping from home depot for brackets for the bunks. Here's a couple of pics of my trailer.

    Checked your RPMs lately?

Do you just assume your motor on your inflatable boat is properly propped? I have a 1989 tohatsu 40hp 2-stroke on a 13' bombard C3 with the factory 11" pitch prop. I'm by no means a "Guru", but was a helicopter mech for 8 years in the great US Coast Guard and just 'felt' that my engine was...

    For real??

 Why is an open discussion concerning firearms a political, religious or socially controversial subject? At this rate we won't be able to discuss whether or not 2-strokes should continue to be used on our boats (they are already banned in some areas of the states). NOt trying to...

tiny tach and clones on outboards

Have any of you used the 'tiny tach' or one of the clones on your outboard? I'm considering getting one to put on my pull-start tohatsu 40hp to see how it's running in regard to rpm's at wot. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with accuracy and longevity. I understand it is only 'water...

Adding a tach to M40C manual start

Unfortunately I don't have a manual yet, and am thinking I should be able to add a tach to this. Correct? Do I also have to add a charging circuit and rectifier? (I am assuming manual start does not have these). My motor seems to run fine, I'm just wondering what the rpm is at wot.

    What a great company!

I know there is and always will be a debate on trim tabs, which are best and why. I just want to say I'm very impressed with Nauticus. I bought a used set of smart tabs for my 13' C3 with a 40hp tohatsu and they have not worked out great. The tabs I had are with 30lb actuators. Talking on the...

Smart-tabs 30lb vs. 20lb (any 20lb out there for sale?)

Well, I bought some used smart tabs (30lb actuators per John) and after a little trial and error believe I've got them adjusted. I do have better planing then without, however not as good as I've had in the past with doel-fin. On the plus side, I really think they do improve handling at speed...

Post a picture of your boat/whip...what do you take out...

Re: Post a picture of your boat/whip...what do you take out... I can only have one boat to use in the lakes, river and ocean, and this is the best compromise. I love it! (I keep the whip at home! LOL!)

heres my C3! Any other owners out there?

Here's my C3 with a tohatsu MC40hp, and my modified utility trailer. My back seat is a truck box with foam added to the lid and I made the front seat with aluminum tubing my neighbor welded and a piece of plywood. I use boating cushions for passengers to sit on. The trailer had the axle moved...

    outboard hydro foil?

I have a bombard C3 with a 40hp that I'm thinking about putting a stabilizer on. I hear and read LOTS of pros/cons, but would like to hear from actual users, no antidotal thoughts. I'm at the max hp for my boat. It gets on plane quickly, but with tremendous bow rise. It then takes off and I have...
