Getting ready to rebuild the seats in my boat. The back bench-style seat was totally shot so I'm, building a new plywood frame, new foam and vinyl. Any opinions on which foam to use? I found some 3" thick polyurethane foam at a decent price but wanted to see what other options there are.
I plan on digging into my deck and stringers in a year or two and wanted to use something other than wood for the substrate. Besides the worry-free factor, I think it would be a good reselling point.

Relocating the speedo and transducer holes to above the waterline. I currently have 2 9/16" holes and the hole for the speedo tube. These areas in the transom are solid fiberglass. Can I put some tape on the outside of the hull and fill with 5200?
Disassembling my boat I found one of the bellhousing bolts doubles as a ground stud. I have grounds on either side of the bellousing but only one brass stud and am looking for another as the connection was rusty. The unit is a Merc 5.7 Alpha 1.
