    My brother contacted a Mercury mechanic in Kentucky and he said it could have an exhaust leak causing it to do just that. I think you may be on to something. Thank you.

    Runs great on the lake. We have checked all fuel lines. No pinch or obstructions.

    Thank you for your reply. Not at this time. It is on a Tracker DLX22 and in the water. Maybe I can call Bass Pro and get it. They were the last to service it.

    Yes it does. 800 RPM.. Yes: It will accelerate very well and runs great. Idle is perfect with cover off. Just as new. .

    I have an issue that is driving me nuts. My 2017 115 Merc outboard 115 HP 4 stroke will not idle for more than 30 seconds. It runs great otherwise. Here is the clincher. I can remove the cover and it will idle perfectly for as long as I wish it to. Remove the cover and idles perfect. Put it back...
