    Weight of Oil

    Why does it require like 30 or 40, not 10/30 or 40. I'm asking due to the fact i had used 10-30 last time. Boat was running funny after a long run at 3000RPM. Checked my oil on a flat surface and was overfilled. So I was reading my manual and its calling for the one weight. 88 GM 5.0 Cobra outdrive.

    Fuel Pump part numbers

    My parts manual for my 88 5.0l calls for OMC 981650 which is a Sierra 18-7268. Problem is neither of these has the tube coming off of it to run the clear hose up to the Carb.     3rd Maiden Voyage not so good

    Didn't go so well, has been running fine before the rubber boot melted on last trip. Replaced Risers, Manifolds, all rubber tubes for the exhaust, and the flappers.     For all of the info on the sight and for the people with ideas. Sometimes they are expencive ideas, but it is really alive for the first time. Changing the ESA over to the CDI Electronics ESA was the best thing I could have done, it shifts, cable is new and the only adjustment I havent pulled...

    Shift rod height adjustment

    In the manual on page 8-45 it says the the rod from the top of the fork to the bottom plate is 7 and 13/64ths. Thats fine but if I adjust it for what I need, its a 1/4 short that fork is going to be really close to the top of the case. Just wondering from the people that have done this, is that...

    Ok I borrowed this picture from an earlier thread; the 7 and 5/8 measurement is from the front of the bolt 7 and 5/16 and the back of the bolt 7.5inches in Neutral.
