    Carb rebuild kits, OEM or aftermarket?

    Just like the title states, is it better to go with an OE rebuild kit or are the aftermarket ones any good for around $10-$15 less per carb? This is for a 74 Evinrude 50hp, just in case that makes any difference. Thanks Jason

    Spark plug gap question

    I have a Johnson 9.5 outboard that I'm not even sure what year it is. The model is 9R-72M so I'm assuming that its a 72, anyways could anyone tell me what the correct gapping on the plugs would be? Also the plugs that are in there now are Champion J6C, is this correct? Thanks Jason
