I have installed new impellar and all in alpha one sterndrive and when doing an air pressure test had a leak. Is there supposed to be sealant or a gasket between the upper and lower halves. It is on a mercruiser 898 ski boat Thanks.

I have been trying to get the 305 lined up with pre alpha outdrive in a sea arrow ski boat. There were 2 little bushings bout 1/2 inch long.....do they go between the rear motor mounts and bell housing mounts? I have had the front high and low and still can't get the tool in the coupling.

I intend to replace the 305 mercruiser in my 82 ski boat. I have the motor out and intend to paint the boat, replace the floor and wonder what else I should do to the outdrive (pre alpha) while I have it all down. Does anyone have an alignment tool they want to sell?
