One fuel line to two engines

I have never really been around kicker motors. I am guessing the one in this case is big enough to have power tilt/trim hence the desire for switches. What I have seen were tiller control and manually tilted so having a manual selector wouldn’t matter. Hanging the primer bulbs vertically is a...

One fuel line to two engines

DANG! Even fuel valves for aircraft are not that high. Here I thought there is nothing more expensive than aviation.

One fuel line to two engines

I always wondered why the I/Os in the fleet didn’t have a primer bulb. They sure come in helpful when a boat gets run out of fuel. An on/off valve on each line maybe? But that brings us back to switching.

A 3-way valve on the filter outlet would take care of it too. Maybe that is what was meant by “selector switch”.

One fuel line to two engines

I think a primer bulb or some other check valve on each line coming from the filter would take care of sucking air through the other engine.

    Electronic steering

Very rare for these rental boats to be run that cold. Never as rentals. It would be a trip to the shop for maintenance (boats are kept lifted in slips). Even then, not many would go out on a day that cold around here except to fish. That really not that cold. I wonder if softer seals would...

    Electronic steering

I do not understand this comment. I have been maintaining several Sea Star equipped rental boats that see 100-200 hours a season and have yet to replace o-rings after 5 seasons. A couple of those boats are 10+ years old. I have had to replace a few cylinder caps but not on every boat and...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

I got lucky. I have the 4.6 liter. It’s easier to work on than the bigger motor and has always done what I asked of it… even when it shouldn’t have.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

My idler is coming up on 250,000 miles. Current belt has about 80,000 miles. The first one didn’t look too bad at 168,000 which is when the intake manifold failed. 2008 F150.

    Grease Seal to Spindle Fit

    That’s the press I have.

    Grease Seal to Spindle Fit

That doesn’t even look like a good option to me. I recommend the press type packer if a person wants a tool for the job. It can be hard to press in cool temperatures but it is faster than packing by hand. I used to step on mine to press the grease into the bearing. I’m fat enough these days I...

    Grease Seal to Spindle Fit

I haven’t seen that gadget. I did meet a guy many years ago who used the needle attachment on a grease gun to pump the bearings full before installing. It seemed like a terrible pain in the rear and about the slowest way I could think of to pack a bearing.

    Been a little cold.

I run mine up and down a couple of times to drain it every time I pull it out of the water just in case I don’t lower it when I get it home. I mine is up now. Shouldn’t be but I haven’t been around the boat since August.

    Mobile home internet

I had a cellular modem for years until I got a smartphone and started using the hotspot before someone finally brought fiber optics into our area. I still use the hotspot when the fiber is out. We stream tv (netflix on the living room tv), surf the net and play games at the same time just fine...
