Hey everybody. I haven't been around the forums since the summer. Been too busy boating, selling the old boat, and then buying a new one! So, now that winter is pretty much on the doorstep and the boat is all put away, thoughts of NEXT SEASON are full steam ahead!
My last boat came with a name...
Hey all. Just wondering if any marinas you dock at have any rules about outboards that are raised out of the water? I don't believe my marina has any restrictions but it's a concern of mine now, especially after i dinged one coming back in from a day out on the water.

Firstly, sorry if this is a common topic. I've tried to search but for some reason the iboat search function isn't working on my Mac.
Sooo...
Yesterday I go down to the marina and open up the boat. I usually turn her over and let her run while I take the camper top down. Starts up no problem...
Firstly, I've repost this from another iboats forum.

Here's my problem. I Installed a depth/fish finder this year (more for depth as I don't fish that much). My plan was to install the transponder on the transom but the the connector was just over a 1/4 inch and I didn't want to drill...
Installed a depth/fish finder this year (more for depth as I don't fish that much). My plan was to install the transponder on the transom but the the connector was just over a 1/4 inch and I didn't want to drill a honking huge hole in the transom. The instructions also said not to cut the...
My post about the long weekend boating deaths in Ontario have got me thinking about emergency drills for the family to practice in the event of an emergency, docked or out on the water.

Much like we do for home fire drills, I'm thinking of coming up with a quick 10 minute drill that I...
This is the May two-four long weekend up here in Canada. As we all gear up for the summer lets remember to be safe. Thoughts and prayers to these folks just up the 401 from many of us:

CTV Toronto
Sun. May. 21 2006 7:15 PM ET
Three missing after boat capsizes on Rice Lake...
I want to antifowl my bottom this year. What's the proper proceedure to get her on blocks from the trailer? I've put the boat and trailer on blocks for storage but never just the boat.

Or, is this something I should just foot the bill for and bring to the marine yard and have them do...

Just pulled out the boat from storage and jumped under it to inspect the hull. A spring surprise! I've got chips. Not 1 but about 7-8 of them all on one side of the boat. I first thought that maybe I hit something last year and didn't notice it before storing it. Then I took a closer look and...
I won't be putting my boat in the water this summer and leaving it in storage. I've had the engine winterized last fall (Merc Alpha One 5.7) and she's well covered. However, this is the first summer that we won't be using her, is there any suggestions on how to make her long sleep a safe one...
Canadian manufacturer that used to build larger boats. Now, mostly small fishing boats for the Quebec market. They made some nice cruisers up to 32 feet I think. I've got a 21 footer and would love to see a section for Cadorette owners to share pics and renos of their boats.

My 2...
D'uh, why didn't I just ask here first!!?

Looking for a place to store SuSeaQ. 21 footer on a trailer.

I'm in Whitby, east of Toronto and would like to store indoors (if possible).

Any of you know of a place? Costs?
I've got a 1990 Cadorette 210 which I keep really clean. But I can only do so much and now I'm planning on doing "something" about the carpet. The cuddy carpet is still a nice blue and exceptionally clean for the boats age. It's usually covered with the cushions so I would say that is the...
OK so now you're laughing. But honestly here is my problem. I'm in the driveway this morning getting the boat cleaned up and ready to put away for the winter. My winch strap is getting old so I go to replace it with a new one. I unwind the winch, the old strap is a bolt thru - off it comes with...
