Any trick in removing an SSV170 steering wheel?

Guys, I received a new steering wheel (UFlex - white w/ silver spokes) for my 1994 Glastron SSV170 outboard. The original steering system was replaced by the previous owner with a SeaStar unit. It uses the original Glastron wheel. Before I rip into it, I thought I'd ask for advice. Does the...

Fuel sending unit location in tank of '94 SSV170?

Guys, Does anyone know the location of the fuel sending unit in a 1994 SSV170? Tank is 20 gal. capacity. Gauge is not the issue (Yamaha digital). I'd like to replace the fuel sending unit, as I don't have any confidence that it's reporting tank levels accurately. As near as I can tell the...

    Measuring water ski length?

Guys, May sound like a weird question, but how is the length of a water ski (slalom) typically measured? Is it along the bottom of the ski, accounting for the curve of the ski, or is it along the top of the ski, in a straight line from tail to tip? TIA, Jeff

    2000 OX66 150HP airbox hose question

Guys, When I winterized my 2000 OX66 150HP (VX150TLRY) I removed the airbox to inject fogging spray into each fuel injector. There are two small-diameter hoses that connect to the back of the airbox. I was quite sure I remembered which hose went where, but the only possible way they both would...

    2009 Ssv 170

Re: 2009 Ssv 170 Nico, I have a 1994 SSV170 w/ Yamaha 150HP OX66 outboard. Bought it used, and it was pampered. Very happy w/ the boat. We bought it primarily to ski behind, and it fits the bill nicely. Lots of room in the seating area, so taking a few people for a ride is easy. I've...

Boarding ladder for 1995 Glastron SSV175

Re: Boarding ladder for 1995 Glastron SSV175 Here's a second version of the ladder extension. I had a chance to mount the first version on my boat ladder last weekend, and while it would work, I wasn't pleased w/ the weight or size. So, here's my second attempt. Jeff

Boarding ladder for 1995 Glastron SSV175

Re: Boarding ladder for 1995 Glastron SSV175 Well guys, I gave up finding a suitable replacement ladder, and struck out on my own. I picked up a piece of 3/4" thick HDPE, and from memory of a photo from the forum here (can't find that either), and some measurements I took of my boat ladder a...

    Protection for bow during towing?

Guys, I'm looking for what I'll call a "boat bra." I'm looking for something to protect the bow of my runabout during towing. I've seen the "grass skirt" attachment to the receiver, but I don't want another gadget to keep track of. I've seen a tarp like device that attaches to the bow of the...

    Replacement ladder for SSV170 outboard

Guys, I'm looking for a replacement ladder for my 1995 Glastron SSV170 outboard runabout. My goal is to go to a three step retractable, to gain an extra step. I've attached a photo that shows the ladder and the mount. I would like to retain the mounting location and style. Is there anyone...

Boarding ladder for 1995 Glastron SSV175

Guys, I picked up a pampered 1995 SSV175 outboard. I'm not enamored w/the boarding ladder, due to there only being one step. The ladder fastens to the hull on the bottom side. Is anyone aware of a replacement ladder that will retrofit, and provide at least one more step? TIA, Jeff

    Bow "bra" provides towing protection

Guys, I've recall seeing this, but can't find it at my usual sources of supply. I can best define it as a bow bra. It covers the underside of the bow, so when you're towing any debris thrown up by the rear wheels of the towing vehicle will not damage the underside of the bow. Does anyone...
