    I changed my battery and neglected to re attach the line that goes to negative battery post (it has a fuse in the line) so the bilge filled up with water.     Prop stops at higher rpm's

    1979 Wellcraft Nova 250 XL, chevy 305 (898) with Volvo Penta 280. Everything has run fine until now. Runs smoothly up to 2600 rpms, as power is increased it seems that it shifts into neutral. The boat almost stops and revs go 4000+ before I can throttle back. Thanks.

    Proper battery

    I just purchased a 1979 Wellcraft Nova 250 XL Volvo Penta Drive V-8 GM. The boat has two car batteries. Should I change to deep cycle. The previous owner said that he never charged them. He used one start and the other for everything else. Thanks.

    I just purchased a 1979 Wellcraft Nova 250 XL with a Volvo Penta drive V8. The steering is a bit tight at all speeds. I was wondering if this is how how it was when new.
