    having trouble keeping the linkage connected. new rubber balls and inserts and every few monthe the linkage comes apart. anyone have a problem like this? also don't know where the spark advanse adjusting screw should be at starting position.

    after looking around the inside of the motor i found the spark advance linkage laying on the bottom . the linkage ball sockets came off the linkage. going to pick up parts today and put back on. probably original parts and rotted. will follow up when finished. thanks

    checked both plugs, spark on both. ordered new gas line (black) and new filter. now thinking bad gas and loaded up filter. was going to wait for line and filter and try that. have fresh non-ethanol gas.

    winter storage

    usually fog and store the 50hp outboard in unheated garage. keeping the boat in the garage to keep fishing through the winter until freeze up. should I keep the chargers going (trolling and starter )?
