Hard to believe it only took a year for my first rebuild. Here are some before and after to show what was done.
The bow seating area:
The backing was all rotted we barely had enough to make templates to recreate the seats.
Helm:
The steering was frozen in place. A bit of work...
Looks weird I know, but they do work together. Here's the lower throttle linkage from above. There is a plate that can't be send looking directly at it as the first pictures were and is where the connecting rod hooks. I am hoping when I put it back together it will turn out the carbs were not...
Wish I had seen the suggestion to leave the lower unit off for now before I bolted it all back in place :/
The Johnson uses their VRO system. I have read a little about some people bypassing the VRO and just mixing in the fuel tank but haven't looked closely at doing that. Here is the oil tank...
I will get the boat moved forward so I can take a picture of the other side later. The Model number is J90MLCRD, from looking online it indicates the M is a manual tilt, but this has a power tilt/trim on it. The PO passed away about 3 years ago and the boat was left outside uncovered. The gas...
I have a boat that was given to me that has a 90 HP Johnson outboard. When I got it all the wires were disconnected and there was no battery. I found in the engine where the diagram shows to hook the positive lead but there is no indication or drawing in the manual I bought that shows the best...
I do have a little issue with having put the boat back together. It sat back on the hull fine and was easy to line the holes up to put the pop rivets and rub rail back on. BUT .....
The windshield flips open as this is a bow rider, as you can see the top no longer lines up so the top has...
Thank you Woodonglass, the spacing looks right, there was nothing there when I got the boat.
We got the pop rivets all in place for the rub rail. My wife was a genius when it came time to reinstall the rubber in the rail, I couldn't believe it would be possible to push it through all the way...
Anyone have an idea what would have been mounted where the red circle is? There is a identical area on the starboard side, fading indicates the 4 holes held down a single plate of some kind. The holes are about the size of a pop rivet or small screw

We got the fiberglass finished and it is a beautiful day, the primer dried really fast so with two coats in place its time to paint the floor with the non-skid paint :)
Almost a 4 week delay rebuilding my boat budget :) SO far this week we have actually made a lot of progress. We finished installing the stringers and getting them tabbed in so they are 100% covered with fiberglass - no water will get at them now. Then we put the plywood for the deck in, got that...
Not a whole lot of progress this week with my new work schedule. But I did get the wood I need and got the transom cut out, it needs some sanding yet but I am happy with the glue job and how it roughed out. I only have one day this weekend due to family obligations but I hope to get the...
Oh the joy of grinding!! Glad I keep my hair short. Got about 90% of the grinding done today. The flap wheel is starting to wear down and with the humidity on the rise its a good time to stop. Can't keep the safety glasses from fogging up so its hard to see. Won't take long after I get a new...
