    lower unit is apart, trying to put it together

    i have a 99 5hp 4 stroke and replaced the impeller , no problem there, but in putting it back together i had to reposition the gear shift and messed something up, i pulled the drive shaft,gears. washers and there was a small rod about 2 inches long that meets the shift lever, it came apart so...
