I'll check that.
They are both fuel injected. No water in tanks.
Maybe that has something to do with it.
Its just something I noticed the past several years with my 2004 6.2. I bought a 2006 last year and it starts the same way. They will both start without giving it throttle but most of...
I have 2 Merc MPI boats. One is a 2004 6.2 and the other with a 2006 5.7. Neither engine likes to start without the throttle being at "high idle" position. Other than that they both run perfect. No IAC codes.
Is this pretty normal or is something out of adjustment?
Did a short WOT blast yesterday. According to the tach (Not confident its 100% correct) I was about 5k RPM at just over 50mph on the GPS with 6 people and a near full tank of gas. I was happy with that.
Also did some tubing. I run 2 tubes. The boat performed very well. I did notice that...
I actually didn't hit WOT yesterday. I was just enjoying finally being out and we mostly cruised at 3-3300 RPM going about 30-33 mph on the GPS. If weather permits we will go out next weekend and let you know. My 6.2L with this Bravo 3 was exactly 4800 rpm at WOT. Hitting 57 mph. Its going...
Finally took the boat out yesterday after the new exhaust manifolds.
The Bravo 3 performed flawlessly! Much better performance than the Bravo 1. Especially the maneuverability while docking.
Bought Smartcraft for my 2006 5.7L Merc. Now I want to install it on my 2004 6.2L just to get the engine hours. I removed the end cap (termination cap?) on the purple connector from the engine harness but some of the pins have rusted off. Does anyone know a part number for this connector or...
Brackish and some salt with raw water cooling.
I dont know when they were inspected. I bought the boat last year and went out 1 time last year. Didnt have any overheating problems then. Not that it matters on an older boat but it has only 240 hours and was serviced every year. It was kept...
I don't believe thats what it is. The red hose goes from the seawater pump to the transom. Maybe its a check valve? I dont see that part on any diagram.
I've had the drive off and the hose looked to be in good shape.
What is this in line on the intake side of the raw water pump? Is this a backflow preventer?
I've have another couple threads involving my work on swapping a Bravo 3 drive onto my Bravo 1 boat. All and all that's a big success. I figured I'd start another thread with this issue because I've determined its unrelated to the swap.
The problem I've having now is an overheating issue...
