    1973 Evinrude 65hp, dies out at low speed

    lower units

    I have two motors. The Evinrude 1973 65hp was recently rebuilt. I checked the lower unit oil and it is a light color (white) as compared to the Evinrude 5.5hp oil (dark oil color). Are some oils in outboards a different color, or do I have some other problem? <br /><br />Thanks for the help!!!!

    I just bought a boat with these two motors. I want to change the lower unit oil. How do I do this and what is the best type of oil to use?
