the motor is an '87 165 HP Mercruiser (224ci)
I am trying to get the lifter out with an extended magnet from the rod hole in the head and pulling it out of the push rod cover.
All 7 other lifters came out easily with just the magnet. The collapsed lifter must be mushroomed out from slapping...
The motor is a 1987, Mercruiser, i/o, 165hp (3.7L 224ci) Let me know if you need the SN#
I have 1 collapsed lifter that needs to be replaced. I have 2 questions about replacing it/them.
Do i have to take the head off in order to replace the lifter or can i do it through the push rod cover...
