About a month ago, my boat stopped abruptly while underway and the ignition switch and all gauges went dead. But it started right up in the driveway once I got it home.
For good measure, I replaced the breaker, ignition switch and checked all fuses.
I have traced the problem down to the dual...
I apologize for the duplicate post - I also posted in the electrical section. I’m just trying to find the right place so I can get some help. Please move or delete if not allowed
I have a ‘97 Regal Destiny with a Merc. 4.3, about a month ago I swapped intakes and carbs, did a tune up and...
As a rule of thumb, how often does everyone pull and inspect their risers/manifolds?
I just replaced mine a year ago, and although I do see some salt/brackish water I'm sure they're fine and I understand I should anticipate a 3-5 yr lifespan if properly flushed/maintained.
But as for...
As part of my 4bbl & intake swap, I’m looking to replace my current coil. Mostly because of corrosion that’s on my current coil.
I figure, while I’m in there freshening things up with a complete tube up, new hoses, manifold and carb. I may as well replace the corroded coil with a new one.
My...
Well, all of my parts have finally made their way in and I have everything other than the fuel line ready to do my swap.
-Edelbrock 1409 carby
-Edelbrock 2519 intake
-K&N 59-3264 Flame Arrestor
-New gaskets & intake bolts
-ARP Carb studs
-Jegs Billet Dist. Hold down
-Merc. Cap/rotor
-Delco...
I ordered all the parts for my new 4bbl conversion, and I’m going to go ahead a freshen up all the ignition components while I have her apart.
With pulling the distributor to change the manifold, I’ll obviously have to reset the timing on this motor.
It’s a ‘97 Vortec 4.3. Im assuming it has...
I have a ‘97 4.3 with 2bbl that floods and is needing rebuilding, also have some corrosion on the manifold. So, I figure if I have to consider replacing the manifold anyhow why not go 4bbl.
National Carburetor will build me an Edelbrock 500 cfm for $275 and I plan to use the Edelbrock 2519...
Does anyone have any pointers or tips for how to replace a thru hull that I can't get to the inside of the hull?
I have the white plastic thru hull fittings that are above the waterline and I noticed today while cleaning the boat the one for my bow ski locker drain broke off.
I can't seem to...
So, I?m looking for a little advice on re-coring a section of my deck.
I had about ? of my deck replaced before Thanksgiving on my boat. The deck had some pretty significant soft spot from hardware that wasn?t properly sealed and a T-Top that wasn?t sealed at all and used lag bolts to install it...
I wanted to see what the group consensus was regarding safety chains vs. safety cables, as well as bow safety chain vs. safety cable.
My trailer (2011 aluminum magic tilt tandem) has cables currently but they are pretty rusty and starting to fray and I am looking to replace them
So, while getting the boat ready for the summer doing all of my pre-season maintenance I noticed I had trim fluid leaking from the port side external trim hose - the "Up Position" hose due to a split in the compression collar on the cylinder end of the braided line.
Ok, no problem - I'll buy a...
I need help! Sorry in advance for the long post, but I wanted to give as much info as possible.
I have a '97 Regal with a 4.3LX, 2bbl.
The boat was running fairly well, and starting as normal but I was having some slight hesitation when accelerating after prolonged idle and the number one...
So I'm trying to get some opinions on manifolds/risers for a '97 4.3 LX.
I got my boat in August (first sterndrive after several Outboards) and the PO said that the manifolds & risers were done a couple years ago, but he also used to boat in the Gulf in Pensacola. So the boat has seen some...
Hi all,
I have a '97 Regal Destiny with a 4.3LX that runs great, great oil pressure, great operating temp etc. the only issue ever is occasionally after running for a bit, and stopping for 30 min an hour it takes it a few more turns to get her started than if she were being started at the ramp...
So, I know that in the Automotive world AC Delco is the best thing to run in a GM product, second best being NGK - either of which are all that I run in my truck, or any other GM product I've ever owned.
However, I know that the marine world and the auto world rarely cross paths when parts...
