ok guys my 1997 Johnson 200hp model J200TXEUA is giving me a fit. it has a bad idle and cough and will cut off at idle. hardly will idle for a few seconds.Here is what ive done.
*changed all plugs to Champion QL78YC
*changed Fuel filters and primer bulb with OEM bulb
*removed carbs and cleaned...
Thinking about deleting the VRO and just premixing. mine is a 1997 Johnson 200 Ocean Pro J200TXEUA. Its 23 years old. All original and i'm just afraid its gonna fail. No body uses the boat but me so I dont have to worry about no pre mix forgot to add.Plus would i have too remove the VRO fuel...

Im replacing the water pump and noticed that under the cup in the housing is a grove and a hole. I think the hole is the air bleed hole. does a o-ring go in this grove? I pulled the cup out of the old housing and no o-ring. So I looked at parts diagram on line...
