    Yes it did solve the problem, it might take more reves than a drill gives to auto reverse the impeller

    OMG , I AM SO STUPID, The impeller was back to front, I have checked it 3 or 4 times and got it wrong every time, sorry to waste all you good blokes time, but if you didn't Help I would still be stuck so thank you J

    Hi , Thanks for the help, I am going to bunnings to buy a bigger bin and make sure its deep oin the water, I will pull it off again and check the passage way again , yes turns clockwise and the impeller was fitted bt turning it in clockwise. I will let you know how I go J

    I have put the gearbox in the water so the bottom of the pump is covered but still no pumping ? do I need a bigger bucket, does it need to be deeper for some reason ?
