My cousins wife passed away and we are helping him do some cleaning out. He has an Elgin metal fuel tank with the gauge on it. I hate to just throw it away if it is worth something to help him out. How can I find out if it is worth anything?
I found an oval shaped rubber exhaust flapper laying on the ground behind my boat. I have been looking at parts breakdown to find out where it came from and have not be successful. Where does it go. 228 V-8 with gen I drive.
The Rochester 4 bbl is seeping a little fuel out of a hole after acceleration. I am trying to get a good picture of where it is. It is behind the fuel filter housing down toward the bottom of the carb. There is not fitting in the hole and no place where it looks like a hose was disconnected...
I am working on a Mercruiser 228 with a serial number of 6021325 and need to figure out which distributer I have. I want to do a tune up. I can't find any markings. The cap is held on by 2 clamps with screws.
There are two sets of this hardware on both sides of my boat. Could have this been for a bimini top? If so, what kind of fitting goes into it and can it be purchased???

I developed a problem last season with keeping the boat running if it was raining. I could start it but it wouldn't idle. I was figuring on doing a tune, wires, cap, rotor and points but wanted to make sure there isn't some module or something that could also cause the situation.

I just purchased two sets of Wise back to back lounge seats with the plastic bases. There is not a hole in the side of the base to use it for storage. Has anyone cut an access area and did it weaken the base?
I am having trouble finding the right part # for the engine mounted circulating pump. It is the pump like a car water pump. It is leaking. Also, would this cause the water temp to run hot?

On both sides, on top towards the rear of my boat there are wood pieces about a foot long. I don't know what they are actually for, would they be a good place to put rod holders?

I was trying to think of Christmas ideas. What would be good gift ideas for a boater? Let's say anything under $100. I know that my not go very far.:) Even if it is a gag gift. Something that you have that wouldn't think about as giving as gift. Key chain. Key chain with drain plug.:p
