    Thank you for the information. sorry for posting in wrong place. The manual is from https://www.selocmarine.com/seloc_online and says for my year and model it is coil and distributor. the next year is Eletronic ignition.

    Volvo Penta 4.3 GL 1997 I replaced the starting relay and fuel relays as well as the starter. Boat starts for les then a second just like if you try to start it with the safety lanyard pulled.
