Installing a new lower shift cable in my MC-1 and the new core wire wont go inside the cable. It goes in about 8 inches and stops solid. And I mean solid. No chance it will work. I've emailed Quicksilver to see if they will replace it. I can only find kits for sale and I only need a new...
Thanks nola mike. Interesting tool. Wish I had it yesterday. But I finally got it out. I used a punch to fracture the nut. I was then able to run the straight tap though the housing.
Need some ideas. When I started to remove the lower shift cable nut on my MC-1 outdrive the nut facets rounded over. So I drilled the center out and used some heat on the casting. No luck. The nut split. I'm stumped. Any ideas? Really hard to get into the cavity to work.
I just installed a new ECHOMAP and all is great except for the fuel flow in Navigation map page. Fuel flow shows in the vessel/engine pages and the fishing map page. But in Navigation the field just shows dashes. Any ideas?
I have a 1976 Sea Ray with original trim pump. Last week it labored to run and would finally go only go one way, up. I remove the upper motor cap and the brushes were totally worn/gone. Found a similar pair of brushes at our local ACE. With minor modification I was able to install them...
Thanks for all these videos but my eyes just glaze over. I do not understand any of this. Frequencies, band widths etc. What the hell? For dummies please.
I have a 20 foot SRV SeaRay and want to add a depth finder. I boat mainly in the Illinois river and a depth finder would be valuable. I'm not a fisherman but it looks like a fish finder is the answer. I don't understand all the ads. What is the most practical for me? What is Chirp? What...
It is a fuel flow sensor. The fuel pump is mechanical. I am just curious if the sensor is installed so far away from the carburetor and on the suction side of the pump if the accuracy is affected.
I want to install a fuel sensor on my 1976 Mercruiser 233 but unsure as to where. The fuel line from the fuel pump to the carburetor is solid and I don't want to cut it. There is no room between the fuel/water separator and pump. The fuel line to the engine filter is rubber and can be spliced...
