I have been having issues with materials being picked up by my tank intakes. I know that I need to have the tank cleaned but right now I have about 200 gallons in there so to empty it at this time is not an option.
The "stuff" is getting caught in the anti-siphon valve at the top of the...
I have a good friend that unfortunately had a little meeting with a steel corner by the lift in a marina. Can anyone give me an idea on what you "think" he should pay for this repair?
The hole is 3" wide by 2" high and all the way through the side of the boat. The hole is open into the cabin...
Hello everyone
I just shot a new coat of gelcoat on the topside of my boat. I used a cupgun to shoot it. I used about 7ml of hardener and 2 -2 1/2 tsp of wax in my final coat. I reduced the hardener from 11ml to about 7 to 8 being the 10-11ml caused the gc to takeoff in the gun.
We have had...
Has anyone ever tried to shoot Gel coat with 2 different guns? I was thinking first coat with the cup gun to get material on the boat and then the final coat with wax from a gravity feed just to smooth it out a little bit. Maybe a a little less sanding.
Thoughts?
Hello all...
I have shot gelcoat many times using standard sprayers without issues. Being I wanted more material on the boat I went to this cup gun.

In the past when we sprayed gelcoat, afyer sanding we used a compound "ROYAL" something...they spped making it and now it seems that the compounds dont really cut the same. Any suggestions on what compound everyone is using?
I will be polishing newly sprayed gelcoat job after 600grit wetsand.
I have read all of the posts I can find on paints but still not sure what to do. Gelcoat, awlgrip, imron or?
I am used to shooting gelcoat but the amount of sanding im looking at for a 28ft might be a but much. Being im shooting outside I can at least fix any issues with gelcoat. I used...
Does anyone know where I can find a replacement pipe for this. The previous owner hit something and bent the tube. Base is fine but the tube has seen better days.

Re: Does a refrigerator have to be tipped back?
Here is a picture. The little space below the frig is that 1x2. there was nothing in the back so I think that the front screws were holding it. When I rebuild the front I want to have the frig sit right on the glass flat all the way back without...
I took apart the kitchen and have a Norcold frig. From the looks of it the previous owned either had the screws holding the weight or it was tipped back. There was a piece of 1x2 in the front as part of the wall base and nothing in the back. Any reason?
When I rebuild the kitchen is there a...
Re: Cabin Wood suggestions?
A few more pics
Leave it to me but being I am rebuilding the kitchen with a microwave etc...I thought a wood mix might be cool.
So as always once you start one fix on a boat it opens a whole bunch of other ones. In getting ready to gelcoat the top decks, I checked the bolts under the rails to see if I could remove them. Every single one was leaking rainwater into the cabin....So to get to them I had to remove the...
Im sanding down the old paint on my boat to get to original gel. What grit should my final sanding be before I spray gelcoat? Im going to 120 right now.
Also when i have shot gelcoat in the past I used no wax and coated with pva. Everyone here seems to be using wax on thier final coat. I always...
