I figured it was time to name my boat, this is what I have come up with:
A couple questions- how high do I need the resolution of the image to send to the decal shop? The one above is a bit choppy for some reason the upload lowered the resolution, the one on my machine looks a lot better...
There have been some reports of the outdrive bolts failing on various Volvo Penta outdrives.
Looks like #5 and #6 are the bolts used to hold it all together.
#5 ? Stud 3883255 QTY REQUIRED: 6 $3.69
#6 ? Stud 3883256 QTY REQUIRED: 2 $3.87
Can someone confirm that these are the bolts...
I have a 2000 Larson Cabrio with a fiberglass non-skid deck. This was great when we used the boat in the ocean and for fishing, now we are going to try the lake scene for a year and the wife and I want snap in carpets.
I was hoping to make my own, it seems simple enough right? Find the right...
I have a 2000 Larson with the volvo penta 5.7L engine, duo prop. I have always had a 40 mph top end until recently. The boat is running at 4000 RPMS at full throttle as always, but I am only getting a 30 mph top end speed. It sounds like its hesitating at full throttle as well. If I back it off...
I put a patch on last season on my 8' roll up zodiac and it has been leaking again as of late.
I used the one part glue in a tube from West Marine.
Are the 2 part glue kits more powerful? The stuff I have been using just seems like rubber cement and not a perm fix.
I have a couple other...
How the heck does this thing go together?
Do I put the metal tang into the rubber boot and THEN try to force the wire onto it? Or do I put the tang on the wire, then try to pull it through the rubber boot?
Thanks for any insight, this should be simple.
I cant find a powerhead gasket set for a 1981 2hp Johnson. I need all the powerhead gaskets.
Or, has anyone made their own before? Thanks for any help.
Here is the end result of my labors, thanks to iBoats and everyone here.
I pulled the drive, changed the bellows, new zincs, anti-fouling paint, and a good servicing. Also pulled the manifolds, and replaced the risers.
Thanks again everyone, the boat goes in Wednesday!
2000 Volvo 5.7L engine, just started it for the season and have an issue already.
I start the boat and it idles at 600 rpms give or take. If I increase the throttle it revs up, but doesnt rev back down below 2,000 rpms. I cant get it to drop.
If I shut it off and restart it is at 600 rpms...
I spoke to the dockmaster at my new marina today. He said that the marina has a very bad electrolosis problem due to the tiny basin it is in being surrounded by boats with shorepower. I ordered new zincs for my Volvo Penta DP-S my question is, should I look at adding another anywhere else?
Thanks.
Alright this is interesting-
Went to pull my drive off to replace the bellows and service the u joint, and one of the bolts has been replaced with a locking nut similar to the type you find on alloy wheels of cars.
Where can I find a key for this? Guess my boat came from a bad neighborhood in...
I have a 2000 Volvo duo prop outdrive, I need zincs and I am confused about how many and what I need. Is there a good site that has a kit or list of needed zincs?
Thanks for the help.
Do riser bolts enter the water jacket at all on the manifold? Do I need to put sealer on the threads of the riser bolts? Got it all back together, didnt do the sealant, and now I am wondering if I should have. Is it possible to get a water leak out of the threads?
Thanks-
