Hello!
I have a bunch of used parts, actually pretty much a complete 1988 50 HP motor in parts, that I would like to get out of my garage. As far as I can tell this board doesn't have any "for sale" areas so I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to list these parts for sale...
Hello!
Thank you all for all the help you've provided in the past, you guys are great!
The thrust bearing on my drive shaft was shattered when I removed it. I'm pretty sure there was only one in there. When I went to the parts breakdown to see what I needed it shows me that two are required...
I serviced the lower unit in my 93 50HP Johnson outboard towards the end of last year. I put all new seals everywhere, new water pump, etc. I took it out 3-4 times and put maybe 4-5 hours on the motor. I think I may have stripped a gear or something the last time I had it out so I just pulled...
I looked in the NGK and the Champion books and neither listed a 1993 15hp motor except for the commercial version. I'm pretty sure, based on the description in the manual and the model number (J15RLETB), that mine is not a commercial motor. They listed thru '92 and then from '94 on but no '93...
While running my motor today, it was running a little rougher than I like. I removed each of the plug wires in turn while running. When I removed the top plug wire I noticed no obvious difference in the way it was running, but I did get shocked when I touched it so it was getting juice. I...
I have a 1993 15hp Johnson on my boat that is used for slow lake trolling only. If I need to get anywhere fast I just use the larger main motor.
I was just curious if it would do me any good to adjust the fuel/oil ratio to allow it to run a little better or have less build up only running at...
I have a leak from the front of my engine, I believe it's from the front main seal, although I haven't fully investigated... I have to remove the rear seat to get a good look at it.
Just wondering if it's possible that an improperly aligned outdrive could have an impact on this leak?
Thanks!
I am trying to replace the condensers on my 16hp Suzuki. The new condensers have no wiring on them so it looks like I have to remove the old wiring and re attatch to the new condensers. They appear to just be soldered on in a grouping with no separation, just attached to to the pad on the top...
Does the alarm for overheating sound exactly the same as the alarm for low oil? Is there any difference in the length or duration of beeps, etc.?
I have no lights on my dash so I was wondering if I can tell what the potential problem is by the warning alarm or if it sounds the same regardless...
In trying to complete my powerhead swap from an 89 Johnson 50 HP to my 93, I realized the crankshafts have different splines on them. The 89 is smaller than the 93. I did get the lower unit with the donor motor, can I simply (well its not simple, I've noticed) swap out the drive shaft from the...
I picked up an '89 Johnson 50hp to swap powerheads with my bad one on my '93 50hp. I didn't realize til I got it home that the '89 has a different lower cover and cover mounting. My '93 is a two piece port and starboard, the '89 is a one piece. The front mounts are bolt on so they appear easy...
I just purchased a boat with a 1993 2-cyl Johnson 50 HP motor. Model VJ50TLETB. PO diclosed that the motor was bad. Looks like it has one bad cylinder, Cyl 1 tested at 155 psi, Cyl 2 tested at 120 psi. I guess the motor will start and run OK initially, then bogs down as it gets warm, makes...
I have a Mercruiser 165, it's a transplant but I believe a late 70's vintage.
It was a project when I got it 2 years ago and finally took it to the lake for the first time yesterday.
The issue is that it will start and run fine in neutral. It will rev up through the RPM's just great and idle...
I have a Mercruiser 165. I just completed a motor swap and now am having problems with wiring/electrical.
I have traced all engine wires and everything appears to be "ok" but I must be missing something.
My starter has 3 terminals. Main battery terminal, "S" terminal to start, and "R"...
