    Quadrajet Replacement Options

If running salt or brackish water with raw water cooling, don't want an all aluminum intake, either. Need one with bronze water passages.

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

My experience of tuning Q-jet and Edelbrock was on a 350 Mercuiser. I found the Edelbrock a little easier. The primary jets and rods can be changed without pulling the carb. There is a good tuning guide by Edelbrock. I think I only made a slight rod change. Back when I made the...

    Quadrajet Replacement Options

I agree, and you will still need a spread/square carb adapter or different intake, throttle cable bracket, and metal fuel line. As stated earlier, staying with a q-jet would be the easiest. I know nothing of this supplier, but seems like they are still obtainable Rebuilt Q-Jet

    Timing check 350 5.7l Carb

FWIW: I had the same year 350 2brl Mercruiser in a '97 Bayliner capri 2050 and it was T5 and no knock sensor. I always grounded the pur/wht wire. Jumping it to 12V? That might not be good for the module. They are hard to find and expensive. Probably better to convert ignition. It was good...

    Adding third toon

I looked at that one, as well. Out of the two, liked the Poly3rdTube better. If depth is needed furher than it can drop, I'd probably go with a 5" motor extension vs a lowering jack plate. Another grand.

    Adding third toon

The Poly3rdToon 3/4 tube is a diy install. Getting their full tube with transom is much more significant work, removing engine pod, motor, gas tank, etc. Most report better handling with a slight higher speed. I have had back and forth discussion with them. For my 22' toon, the engine pod is...

    under skinning

FWIW; I have never heard of them bending from the water hitting them. I haven't done mine yet, but the local place I can buy sheets will cut and bend to spec.

    Jet Drive Outboard Motor Debris

Only when going slow. The forward motion feeds the water it needs. You would burn the motor up if you ran the shoe parallel to the boat bottom. For running, trim is limited to fully tucked in to where the drive shaft is perpendicular, which isn’t much. Most just leave fully tucked in...

    Jet Drive Outboard Motor Debris

It could. On our jet boat, it stops a distance in front of where the tunnel starts. It just covers the curved part plus a foot or so.

    Converting jet to prop

Yes, the cable that operates the "bucket" on the jet will need to be replaced. You will need to look at your motor and compare to a schematic to make sure that you have the rest of the linkage under the cowl.

Am I hurting things by not running WOT?

You are running as close to being the most efficient without additional gauges. Myself, I like to run WOT for a few minutes on every outing. Especially with an older 2 stroke like you have. Helps clean some carbon out. With the tach, you now can check if you are hitting the recommended WOT...

    Jet Drive Outboard Motor Debris

Probably not the most ideal for a jet. The boat in the video is a mod v at the stearn. With the V on the front, I'd want to see how it does with a 2nd person. The few 40/30s I've seen on the river really seem to struggle to plane with 2 or more people. These are on 1448 and 1648 jon boats...

    Jet Drive Outboard Motor Debris

To me, an outboard jet is a specialty, specific to shallow river running. Not for general boating. Forgot to mention that low speed maneuvering is difficult and you wouldn’t want to use it for trolling, etc. The boat needs to be a shallow mod V or flat bottom. A tunnel helps it go slightly...

    Jet Drive Outboard Motor Debris

No, never have wasted a day because of it. As I said haven't had anything jam the impeller yet. There is a procedure in the manual on how to clear it. I hope I never have to learn it.
