Good morning. I've recently been working on an evinrude 28 spl. Last night I noticed a small gear oil leak on the side of the gearcase. It was coming from a man made hole in the side of the case, near the top drain plug. Anyone have any information about what this holes purpose is? Or why...
This is the water pump in it's entirety. The "tube" I was referring to is the water tube. I was half asleep when you mentioned the other tube and didn't grip what you said lol
That tube is only half the diameter of these o rings. It has it's own rubber insert that I inserted. These o rings are almost double the diameter of the drive shaft.
Good evening everyone. I have just completed replacing the entire waterpump in my 1995 28 special, and when all is said and done, I have 2 rubber o rings left over. I've carefully inspected everything I removed and there were no o rings present. Does anyone have any idea what these could be for?
