So I had hard steering and after pulling back end apart and front end I surmised that is was my steering system which is rack and pinion.I have a 19' bayliner runabout. I figured that I needed a 14 ' cable altogether. Am I right?
I have a Mercruiser 3.0l alpha 1 gen 2. I want to replace the exhaust bellows with a boot but can't find the right part number. Can someone help me please?
when I turned the blue rubber key shaped screw to let the water out of the engine last winter, it broke. water came out because it had a small hole within it. I don't know how to get the rest of the rubber out of the engine. thanx
I have a mercruiser 3.0l with a alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive, do I have both LH or how can I tell. I put the drive back on assuming it was RH but now I'm wondering if I made a mistake. If they are both LH is the only problem I have with the linkage and the way the prop turns? I feel so dumb.
You prolly answered this a lot of times but didn't find it in forums. I recently changed my bellows, worked on the shift shaft, put outdrive back on (previous threads of mine). Tried to start it and got a high whirring sound at first. Now I get a large click when turning the key, not the...
I can't seem to find an answer to this on the forums so here goes...I replaced bellows and am putting outdrive back together, but I can't position the drive unit shift shaft forward. It is pointing straight backwards and moves a little clockwise but stops. I hear clicking in the lower unit when...
putting alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive back together, pulled out the lower shift cable to put bellows on it. Now I am looking at where that shift cable is supposed to go back on the engine( I guess its called the linkage) and it looks like there is no way it could ever go back on-it just wouldn't fit...
I fully charged my battery and I can get the transom to go up and down but the instrument panel doesn't work, no clicking no nothing
gonna work on replacing one end of a bellows w/o out taking lower unit off ugh. but does it sound like I blew a fuse? and which one hope this doesn't post twice
I was here last year, haven't been able to work on it since. I took the lower unit apart and changed the bellows, but after I put it back together-I am stuck in reverse. please tell me what I did wrong, how I can fix it thanx,
I pulled my outdrive apart w it in forward gear and replaced it the same(forward) w/o adjusting the shift shaft. Now it is stuck in reverse. Is there any way I can resolve this w/o pulling my drive again? I'm trying to adjust my linkage for the shift shaft but idk if I can do it that way>
My friend was helping me start my mercruiser 3.0 - he bypassed the 55 amp fuse just before the starter, the fuse had fallen apart at some point, is this going to cause problems for me, stupid questions are allowed right?
:embarassed:
I'm putting my outdrive back together after replacing the bellows, when the outdrive is still off and I turn the prop- the spline doesn't turn. I am wondering if this is normal or if I missed something. What exactly causes the prop to turn?
