    Couple of johnson questions

    i have a 1989 johnson 150 gt. <br />#1 why would my motor want to lift out of water in reverse?<br /><br />#2 lower unit.. i seem to have to change oil every 2-3 times out due to water.. also have some metal flakes each time..<br /><br />#3 lately i've noticed a drop in speed 5-10 mph...

    starting trouble

    it seems as if the bendix is stuck in th up position, when key is turned it grinds.. is there a way to release it so it drops back down?

    trailer sway

    if your trailer has a slight sway is this due to too much tongue weight or not enough? cause it seems as though the bow stop has slid forward over the years..

    couple of questions

    had 1st night tournament last night. end of night, go to start engine and nothing. dead battery.. battery is at least 4 years old, i've had boat a couple of months.. should i upgrade and get a bigger cranking battery(will this let me fish longer with lights, livewells and fishfinders?) what size...

    johnson 150 gt help?

    i just decarbed my 89 johnson 150 gt a month ago. with the decarb i went from 42 mph to 58 mph. ran it 4 or 5 times(ran smooth as could be) and now back down to 47 mph.. is it time to decarb again? might it just be fouled plugs?( didn't get to check them yet just got home and it was dark.) hole...

    i will be installing a skimmer transducer on the rear of my boat.. where is the best place to put it? a friend of mine mounted his on the back and doesn't read when he goes over a certain speed..

    engine spitting

    i am wondering why first thing in the morning when i fire up my johnson 150gt it seem to spit(not literally, idles real rough sounds like a coughing sound) until it warms up. once i start to troll out the no wake it seems fine
