Changing Gear Ratios on Bravo 3

I definitely have a 2.0 Bravo. 32/27 upper that I am keeping. That mated with a 13/24 lower(purchasing a new lower with this ratio) has a final drive ratio of what? I’m getting 2.19

Changing Gear Ratios on Bravo 3

Thanks. I need to get my RPM’s up and I really would like to change gear ratios as I do not believe this 2.0 drive ratio is cutting it. If I’m changing the lower already I’d like to know if my math is working out. The compression test was good, and fuel burn looked good.

Changing Gear Ratios on Bravo 3

Hey everyone. This forum never lets me down so here we go. I have a 1970 SeaRay SRV 240. Repowered last year with a 383 MPI and Bravo 3 drive from a donor boat. The RPMs were never up to par. 4300 with 22P props, 4500 with 20P props. Well I had a crack in my gear lube monitor tube and my heat...

Okay. Would error codes show on my Vesselview? There are none.

Well I have free access to a scanner so I will do a run before my season is unfortunately over (Michigan)! Criteria to scan and watch would be spark advance and ???. How far should the computer advance the timing?

Okay. Would it be best to get someone on the boat with testing equipment or just send the ECM to Whipple to get flashed?

Got it. Yes idled for maybe 3-4minutes after full throttle. How does the 555 know the AFR?

Here’s two plugs from each side. A little reddish. According to the charts I’m on the lean side but not dangerous. Does anyone think differently? Thanks!

I will call the dyno sometime and see what they say. When I ordered it I thought it was to test its capabilities but when picked up it was presented as a break-in dyno.

Is there such a thing as a break-in dyno?

Yes plenty of rot. The transom and engine stringers were removed and replaced. Transom built to merc spec.

I don’t have it in the report but I was told it made 360hp (advertised as such too) maybe the dyno company can give me a better report. Thank on the compliment, we really enjoy the boat and the new reliability aspect. Just working out the things like this. Believe it or not the injectors are...

Looking at the graph it doesn’t really show much…this was more of a break-in run from what I’m reading

Thanks again for the suggestions! I have the ECM555 for sure. I wasn’t aware you can convert to MEFI. Attached the Dyno graph here… I have that same document for when I installed the distributor and I’m confident it’s installed correctly. Additionally I can get a scanner plugged in for a test...
