    starting problems

    I installed a new starter on my 77 55hp johnson and now the motor wont fire. The first time I tried the motor with the new started it fired immediately ran for 30 seconds and then died. Now when I turn the key, The flywheel turns with the starter but the motor never tries to fire.

    77 johnson starter problem

    the starter on my 1977 55hp johnson isnt working properly. When you turn the key the gear goes up to the flywheel as it should then nothing happens except for a grinding noise. I think the shaft is turning inside the gears and not making them turn the flywheel. Any ideas?

    Johnson throttle cables

    How do I disconnect the throttle cables on a 77 55hp johnson without screwing up the settings? Is it easier to take them off the motor or the control box and how do you do it?

    I have 1977 55hp Johnson 2 cyl and I was wondering if water should be coming out of somewhere when it is running. Right now I dont see any coming out except from around the flusher.
