    Idler Pulley Part #

Sorry to keep this thread up, but your help probably got me back on the water in a day vs who know$$. My mechanic gave me the hint on how pull up on the tensioner, and a second set of hands slipped the belt over…everything seems to be aligned and running smoothly! Thanks

    Idler Pulley Part #

Thanks Cobalt 1999! Turns out at VP they are back ordered, using the Dayco catalog (out of stock locally), to learn how they are dimensioned I found one at a local autoparts store....VP 3860201 = Dayco 89804 = GAT 38009. Wish me luck....

    Idler Pulley Part #

Idler pulley on my 7.4 GSi PEFS failed. Knew something happened since I lost power steering (shut right down, towed in, no over heating). Tensioner and everything else spins freely. My question is all the schematics show the bracket with pulley and doesn’t list the part #. It looks identical to...

Another question on oil over fill

Quick backstory – 2001 VP, 7.4L Gi PEFS, Where I store it, they drain the oil, change the filter when they winterize the block in Oct and then add the fresh oil in the spring. This last Saturday, load up with fresh oil (15W/50 Syn) – 5 quarts. I tend to work with the owner (friend) he poured the...

Possible Leak at the steering arm

Hi Gentlemen and happy May and looking forward to some physical distance boating in the weeks ahead. Some vitals; 2001 V/P 7.4l GI PEFS - DP SM 1.78 drive, and TSK SX MHP transom assemply Last year I had the air entrainment problem that we eventually chased to the plastic nipple (missing a...

Raw Water Clear tube test - yield lots of air bubbles

Lubak572 - #11 does not have to come off - we were able to reach everything with just the drive off. dypcdiver - that is what we thought as well, but the weep hole is right were the gasket sits and was the source of the air, once the gasket went in the notch it blocks the weep hole and inturn...

Raw Water Clear tube test - yield lots of air bubbles

So just to close this out in the end we discovered that is was located at the nipple (as folks suggested was the likely culprit) - what it appears to be was the nipple was missing the gasket (20). We never touched the nipple and what we can't really understanding is why it wasn't sucking air...

Raw Water Clear tube test - yield lots of air bubbles

DP SM 1.78 with TSK SX MHP Transom shield (2001) - replaced risers and manifolds in Nov, this spring among other things replaced bellows (both) and shift cable. On muffs and in water at idle temp is fine, then under load at about 2500 rpm - temp starts to rapidly climb. Checked raw water pump...

DP SM1.78 Hydraulic Steering Cylinder Part Number

Sorry to ask, but have a power steering leak at the actuator and I'm having trouble confirming the part number of the actuator/cylinder. I find the cylinder on the different websites some say good for all DP-SM drives, but some only list other drives and not the DP-SM. I can't seem to find...

    Alternative for OEM Ignition Cables

Wondering if there is an alternative to V/P ignition cable kit 3857169 (my engine is a 7.4l GIPEFS - it looks like the main issue is the straight boot on the actual spark plug so it doesn't conflict with the manifold. Thanks -

Replaced risers, manifolds and PS cooler - one lingering question

So, I did it (with a lot of help from a crusty old boat mechanic in northern NY) – replaced the risers and manifolds on my 2001 Pursuit 2860 with VP 7.4L GSI. Did it in the shed with a propane heater and 17 degrees outside temp….nothing like holding heavy cast iron parts on a cold day, while...

Where to purchase Barr risers and manifolds?

Looking for recommendations where/who to purchase risers (V/P #3863061) and manifolds (V/P #3861459) - It is a 2001 7.4L PEFS large block, I'm going to replace the bellows as well, but plan to purchase OEM, the risers and manifolds - I'd like to get from Barr, but while not huge differences...

Big leak in reverse, less in forward - little at neutral - VP duo prop

My first post at iboats so please be patient! - I've spent most of my time on THT, but I'll start right in with my problem. Just recently purchased a used Pursiut Denali 2860, 2001 - 7.4L - VP Duo Prop. I had the boat surveyed prior to purchase - high moisture reading in the transom, but...
