Totally agree, however, after the fuel separator gets saturated water will get through and shut the motor down. The water ruined the electric fuel pump.
Looking at a 2001 Yamaha 225 four stroke. Some one put water in the gas tank while parked at a motel. Electric fuel pump was replaced. Motor will run. Should I run away?

Guess I didn't make myself real clear. When the boat is in the water and the engines are idling or on plane both tell tails are the same. It is only when the starboard engine is being flushed that the tell tail is weak.
