    70EL77S Long shaft or short shaft??

    Hi Just wondering if this Johnson 1977 70 hp is a long shaft or a short shaft. Looking for parts and they keep asking me and I dont know, hoping someone here can help. My guess is a long shaft! But I want to know forsure so no guesses thanks.

    Johnson 70 1977 were does the water come out of when running.

    Oh a Johnson 1977 70 hp model # 70EL77S where is the water suppost to be coming from, it doesnt have a pee hole on top like the newer models? thanks :confused:

    Stand in for a Johnson tilt and trim for a 70 hp 1977

    :confused:Is there anything else out there, that anyone knows of that could work for a tilt trim system for a Johnson 70hp 1977. Some after market, an adaption plate... etc. that a person could use instead of an old model one that is hard to find and repairs cost a fortune. Thanks

    Tilt and Trim for a 70 hp 1977 johnson

    Hi I am looking to replace the tilt and trim on our 70 hp 1977 johnson model # 70EL77S. I think it would be cheaper and easier for us to just replace the whole thing, since someone has cut off the wires from the motor, and there is no trim on the throttle so it will need to be toggle switched...
