I have a minor leak in the drain plug. I have messed with it plenty of times, using JB Weld.
The drain plug setup:
Circular plate, with 4 screws going into the fiberglass/wood
and a plug you screw into that plate.
everything's pretty standard
The threaded plug is fine. no leaks from it...
67 Mercruiser. Original engine. Inline 6cyl. I bought this a couple of weeks ago.
This thing runs GREAT but doesn't seem to have the getup it should. The local boat shop told me that this thing should be running at about 5,000 RMPs instead of 3,000. :eek:

Recently, my engine began making a noise. It sounds like the letter "T" said over and over again. Make the T sound about 5 times a second, and you get the noise :). So, I looked at the engine, and there's a mist of water spitting out a hole in the exhaust elbow. Any ideas? I'm super worried...
I'm pretty sure my lower shift cable in my 67 Mercruiser 6cyl is messed up. Does anyone have experiences with shift cables?
