    Red & Blue Mercs

    Hi<br />A friend of mine is considering buying a boat with a 2001 90hp Merc. It has a red cowling. What is the difference a Merc with a blue cowling and one with a red. I was told that a red denotes fresh water and blue salt. Is this correct?<br /><br />Thanks

    Hi I have a 2002 115 4 stroke Yamaha. On occasions I have trouble starting the motor, when the key is turned nothing happens, but if I giggle the remote lever a few times it starts (the lever is in neutral).
