    alarm sounding 50 hp merc

    over heat alarm sounds-- checked water temp seams fine, even pulled thermostat, changed sending module, was fine till i started to slow idle for about 30 minutes and it started sounding again. disconnected it went full throttle and plugged it back in and it no longer sounded. very confused

    1995 60 hp merc I am replacing the regulator the wires were fried on the old one. does it matter which yellow wires go to the yellow wires on the motor. the reds are opposite --one felmale and one male but the yellow are both male. the part number is 883072T

    I have a 50hp force that overheated a seized the engine. The alarm did not go off. All wiring is ok to it. Is there a way to check the heat sensor on the head to see if it is bad which would cause the buzzer not to buzz?
