The Holley marine 4160 600 CFM Holley only has one nipple near the air horn (which might just be for PCV/manifold only)

The quick fuel 4160 600CFM has 4 ports, one in the rear for PCV, two timed spark...
Basically what happens when Holley is basically a monopoly on the carb market. Overall though I am happy with my quickfuel (I know Holley owns them). I do wish it had a fuel dump vent hookup on the carb itself. Almost all marine fuel pumps have a dump tube to the carb if the primary fuel pump...
I am getting some off idle hesitation under heavy throttle which I believe is due to the accelerator pump not engaging properly.
I checked the instructions for how to adjust the spring but my accelerator arm lever has no pressure to apply upwards. The carb is new and I checked the diaphragm...
I need to glass in some anchor tie down points for a battery switch and also for securing/anchoring a gas tank. I have read about Coosa composite but it is pricey and seems to only come in large pieces.
What do you think about HDPE and glassing it in? I plan to screw in some anchor points into...
My steering cable travels up the starboard side and the rack runs parallel to the helm, faces the port side, and connected to the steering pinon gear (opeing in rack facing down of course resting and secured to the pinon gear facing up). The steering works but my steering direction is reversed...
That is how I have it of course. The cable only pulls one direction which is opposite my steering wheel currently. I have to face the rack the opposite direction I currently have it, just wasnt as much radius bend/space as previous steering rack because it was shorter than the replacement rack.
My steering is backwards for my rack and pinion helm setup. I have my steering cable coming from the back, running up the right side of the boat and rack facing the left side of the boat. Steering wheel is on the left side of the boat also.
Can I rotate the rack gear to fix/reverse steering...
It is so old, 40 years old and low amperage. I have a hydraulic trim pump that pulls 20 amps alone now (old alternator only rated at 37amp peak). I rather just get a completely new one.
My old motorola alternator MR12N451D bit the dust. I am looking for a replacement one but I can't find specs of new ones. Product pages don't have a lot of info. The boat is custom built but uses a marine ford 460 (7.5L) engine. I tried matching a rated ford 460 alternator but it doesn't fit...
Using a puller would have pulled the thin fiberglass helm apart. Didn't want to take that risk. Ill remove the grease from the shaft but keeping some in the woodruff key hole. That is what I am mostly concerned about, corroding and freezing up.
Isn't that the point of the wood ruff key? To keep the hub from spinning on the shaft? The nut applies pressure also to the hub against the taper. I just don't want it frozen like last time. A little bit of grease will help with removal and corrosion control. It is a cable controlled steering...
