Volvo Penta 5.0GL with SX outdrive.
I ruined the impeller because I ran the motor outside of the water.
I installed a new impeller and bought muffs.
I ran the water first then started the motor. How do I know that it is working?
The temperature gauge was well under 150 degrees for 10 minutes.
I was dumb enough to run the engine outside of the water so the impeller was toast. I just replaced the impeller but I've found the old impeller debris around the outdrive where water comes in.
