1998 Suzuki 150 2 stroke. Ran fine for a while the other day in all gears, went to back away from a dock and reverse wouldn't engage, only clicked. After one or two more attempts it wouldn't make any noise in reverse and then I had to go through neutral into reverse to take the boat out of gear...
