1997 Mercury Force 120 - Loss of Power - Hard to Start

Impeller should be fine I just replaced it and it's pissing great. I think it overheated because it was bogging down and being started over and over.

1997 Mercury Force 120 - Loss of Power - Hard to Start

Actually ended up being an air leak! but I did adjust the air-fuel screw to get it running better.

    1987 Force 125 tower shaft linkage frozen/seized

Don't use the square muffs. I ran into this issue when I first got my Force. Get the old less expensive circle muffs. Mine didn't pee on the squares and I thought I had an impeller issue, it was just the square muffs don't suck tight to the lower unit. or run it in a barrel

1997 Mercury Force 120 - Loss of Power - Hard to Start

Only had about 30 minutes to work on the motor today. Got a compression test done. From Top to Bottom: Cylinder 1: 135 Cylinder 2: 140 Cylinder 3: 150 Cylinder 4: 140 Seems to be within the 15% rule? Spark plugs looked dry & dirty, I'd say they were carbon fouled but I don't have much...

I never heard any backfire, just a loss of power. What am I looking for when taking the fuel pump apart?

1997 Mercury Force 120 - Loss of Power - Hard to Start

Hey Guys, I've been having all sorts of issues with my Force. 1. There was water in my fuel. So I pumped it all out (or so I thought) and it ran good. 2. A week or so later the Motor Bogged down WOT, and I checked the fuel water separator and sure enough it was full. I was checking it...

What size Fuel Water Separator? 1998 Mercury Force 120 HP.

I'm actually really confused. I keep seeing things like: Fuel Line Compatibility: 3/8" NPT Fitting: 1/4" Does a 1/4 NPT fit a 3/8 hose?

What size Fuel Water Separator? 1998 Mercury Force 120 HP.

Hi Friends, I have a 1998 Mercury Force 120 HP. I believe the fuel lines are 3/8, the old fuel water separator that was on the boat appears to be 1/4 inch. Is this the correct size?

    1998 Force 120 Impeller Kit

Yeah, the problem is there was a bit of water in my lower unit oil. Picture below: So I was thinking the gaskets @ the water pump might be bad.

    1998 Force 120 Impeller Kit

Hi Guys, I want to replace the gaskets and impeller on my 1998 Force 120 but the boat shop only has the full water pump kit which is like $350. I just want new gaskets, and an impeller. Does anyone know the part #'s for the gaskets and impeller? I can't find a kit with just that in it. I...

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Is this the same as that? Does anyone recommend spark plug pliers when pulling the plugs while the engine is running to see which cylinder isn't firing? Inexperienced and don't want to shock myself. Other questions: -I'm gonna be doing the impeller as I haven't done it yet. Should I do the...
