Looking at a1981 Capri 14 ad. Is this year any good? The deck/centerboard design is different than later models. I don't see the cone protrusion or pulley.
I took the boat out today and everything was fine. Didn't really fix anything, just cleaned the alternator wires some, but they were fairly clean. Volt gauge was at 10 volts during start so I think the gauge is faulty. Thanks for the help everyone
I actually have a Fluke. I am confused that the boat was beeping a low battery warning but it started fine and battery voltage is good. Maybe further testing will reveal something
Following up, 7 weeks parked, battery at 12.6 volts. I'm taking it and alternator to be tested. Seems like battery is okay. If alternator tests bad can I use an automotive rebuild kit?
I wish the indicator lights in the switches were brighter so I can tell in daylight that they are on. Is there a way to add a brighter LED to replace the faint glow of the existing switch light?

The plugs looked dark. No heavy deposits but the color was dark, not tan. The boat did clear out and ran pretty good all day. Regarding the prop, once I reach redline I throttle back. I don't want to over rev the engine. I think it would if I allowed it.

Has anyone had a ski rope shoot into the boat? I almost got my face smashed while pulling a heavy skier. The rope hit the dashboard like a gunshot. I used to see some skiers use a shock tube on the rope. Does anyone know if these help reduce rope snapback?
2000 volvo 5.0 GL seawater pump rebuild complete. All the videos showed rotating the impeller CW while pushing it into housing. Started motor and sure enough it turns the opposite direction. Will the impeller vanes reverse on their own? Ran it for 15 minutes and temp was 155
