    83' 115hp Mercury, prop slip

What 3 balde would be better at increasing cruising speed fuel efficiency? Or would a 4 blade be more efficient?

    83' 115hp Mercury, prop slip

A few thoughts, First is analog tach, and gps speed is my set up. Second, so you're saying that a 4 blade would not be more efficient than a 3 blade? When you say:" Their efficiency and slip reduces hugely anything upwards of slow planing speeds" what are you even saying? Third, let's...

    Helix 7 g3n with a garmin/lowrance flow meter?

Anyone know or have used a g3n with the ethernet adapter to a backbone nmea 2000 compatible fuel flow meter? I have a Helix 7 G3N and am looking into ways to get it to show my mpg/gph. Anybody got any ways to use it and not a new display?

    Gph at various rpm...thoughts?

Thank you for some actual numbers. It's refreshing to have an answer to a question rather than old rule of thumbs repeated back to me Thanks again.

    Gph at various rpm...thoughts?

So on that 84' 115 did you see 11.5 gph wot or closer to 14 gph wot?

    Gph at various rpm...thoughts?

If it's a 115hp rated at the prop, then due to loss, the 115hp would go up, meaning a "125hp" crank would lose 10% and land to 115hp prop. So sure not the old 140hp but still thirstier than the "old" 115hp crank rated which is what we normally do the old 10% WOT gph.

    Gph at various rpm...thoughts?

    2400# loaded weight starcraft 1974 ss with 19p 3 blade stock prop, 65 degrees F, no wind, no current, 2.0 gear ratio, and at each 500 rpm level.... 5500 = 14 gph 5000 = ? 4500 = ? 4000, 3500, 3000...

    Gph at various rpm...thoughts?

So, the rule of thumb is 10% of hp is WOT gph usage. I have an 83' Mercury 115hp with I'm told is the year they changed to different hp rating (at the prop rather than crank?) making my 115 more like a 140...meaning I "should" see about 14 gph at WOT. With all that said, does anyone have a...

    Nmea 2000 and gph display

Is there a simpler solution that I'm missing outside of nmea 2000?

    Nmea 2000 and gph display

So, lets pretend i still want to know my gph. What would a guy need? Backbone=wire? Or Backbone is a device? So flow meter on fuel line. Then flow meter wire to nmea 2000 device. Done?

    Nmea 2000 and gph display

So, I am searching for a display (preferably guage size) that would do gph. My set up is no existing NMEA2000 equipment or displays. All I really want is a gph display but it appears to be either expensive (over $500) or nonexistent. I have the flow meter on order (garmin gfs10) and just need...
