Mercury tracker marine 115hp serial # OG556411<br />I rev'd engine up while running boat in water and still on trailer. The warning horn came on with a continuous pulsating beep-beep. I shut off engine hoping it would reset. Later I disconnected battery, also trying to reset warning horn...
Thought I had a pump problem so I changed the impeller. Warning horn still makes intermintent and continuous beep-beep when I turn key but not start. What checks are being made when key is turn to pretest position.

I am attempting to change a impeller on a Mercury tracker marine 115hp 4cyl outboard. I took off the bolts, but noticed that the lower unit fits in pretty snug. Question: is there a special tool or procedure for removing lower unit or just beat it off with a sledge hammer or rubber mallet.
