    Rebuilding a carb on the older mercs and EVENRUDES in the 70ties and 80ties

    When rebuilding the carbs on these motors , in the last carb kit I got I also had two small aluminum plugs , that matches the plugs On the carb is there things under those aluminum looking plugs that need to be taken out and cleaned and the new plugs installed??? Need help here thanks

    Shift rod problem

    I have an older 6hp MERC about 1976. The shift rod food is off inside the lower unit, I have everything out Except the big gear in the back its in front of the shift foot, I can't figure out if it is pressed in or what. Can anyone tell me how to get it out so I can get to the shift rod foot???
