    I have a 14ft aluminum from Misty River. The transom measures 18 inches high from the very bottom to where the outboard clamps on. If I put a short shaft motor on then the cavitation plate will be 1 inch above the bottom of the boat because a short shaft motor measures 17 inches from the clamp...

    hey guys,my 170 merc i/o has no voltage at the coil when the ignition switch is on.Could it be a faulty ignition switch or is it something else.It starts and runs fine with just a little backfiring if you put the thrott down to fast.Any thoughts would be a big help.

    hi, I have a 170hp merc inboard,outboard on a 19 ft regal sebring. It has a 14x19 three blade prop that revs out at 4600 rpm, which is right at the max for that engine.My question is this, if I want to put a four blade prop on ,would you go with a 14.5x18 or a 14.5 x20. Thanks
